Living up to their name, Pom Pom Squad’s album release party at Mercury Lounge on October 25 felt like a high school Halloween party. After a surprise drag show featuring New York’s CORSETTE, I’m Baby and MAUVE, Pom Pom Squad came out and played the entirety, in order, of their new album “Mirror Starts Moving Without Me,” which released on the same day.

Midway through the show, lead singer Mia Berrin had the packed crowd part in the middle so she could host a costume party with the winner being chosen by audience cheers. A fan dressed as Corpse Bride won and was awarded the “Scariest Girl on the Cheerleading Team” sash.

This small, intimate show precedes the larger The Mirror Ball Tour kicking off in February 2025, with Pom Pom Squad returning to New York City on the final show of the tour at Music Hall of Williamsburg on April 4.
