MAN MAN: NEW ALBUM INFO, STREAMING TRACK

It’s hard to believe it’s been nearly three years since Philly weirdos Man Man released “Rabbit Habits,” so there’s a little extra excitement today in sharing the details of the band’s next LP, “Life Fantastic” (Anti- Records).

It will be out May 10. It includes songs with names like “Pirrhannas Club,” “Eel Bros” and “Bangkok Necktie.” And, for the first time, Man Man worked with a producer: Mike Mogis of Bright Eyes and Monsters of Folk. And that’s the cover art above.

We’re anxious to hear what frontman Honus Honus and company came up with this time around. For now, you can listen to “Life Fantastic’s” opening track “Knuckle Down” at Pitchfork. From this track, at least, it sure sounds like the carnival midway/Gypsy influence is still thriving for Man Man.
