We’ve already let you in on the philosophy behind the inaugural Campfire Outdoor Adventure & Music Festival, and we’ve already brought you an interview with Lake Street Dive, one of the festival headliners. So today, we’re focusing on the non-musical activities you can tackle at the three-day festival that kicks off Friday, Aug. 29, in Lakewood, Pa. There’s a lot to do at camp, and these are 10 we wouldn’t recommend missing.
10. 1st ANNUAL BENEFIT 5K
The race kicks off Saturday morning, and leads runners through the campgrounds. “Come for the run and stay for the fun, because the finish line leads straight to the lake for a splash and group photo.”
9. DISC GOLF
Enjoy a round or two of “Frolf,” as George Costanza called it. The three-whole disc golf course at Campfire will be open all weekend.
8. BEACH TIME
All of this running and disc golf is going to make you tired. Take a break at Campfire’s beach….
7. ROCK CLIMBING
…then challenge yourself at Campfire’s 3-story rock climb.
6. LASER TAG
A custom laser tag course set up by NEPA’s own Combined Forces? Sign us up.
5. HOOP DREAMS
You don’t have to be the next Lebron to enjoy some pickup basketball, but you might need to bring your A game for the Costume Slam Dunk contest.
4. SHOW YOUR SPIRIT
If you’re bunking in a cabin, make sure you decorate the front porch for a chance to win the Campfire Spirit award. The most creative cabin will win “a custom prize and a spot in Campfire history.”
3. OBSTACLE COURSE
This just looks damn cool.
2. GO SPORTS!
Didn’t win the Costume Slam Dunk contest? No worries. Get in on a game of kickball, beach volleyball or one of the many other sports going on all weekend.
