Jerry Marotta, who was the drummer in Peter Gabriel’s touring and recording band from 1977 to 1986, leads The Security Project, a band that reimagines Gabriel’s music from that classic era. The band, which wraps up its Expect the Unexpected Tour with shows at the Mauch Chunk Opera House in Jim Thorpe on Thursday May 19 and at Ram’s Head on Stage in Annapolis, Md., on Friday, May 20, includes other accomplished musicians. Trey Gunn on touch guitar is known for his membership in King Crimson’s “double trio” period. Guitarist Michael Cozzi is from Shriekback and Sky Cries Mary, and keyboardist David Jameson plays with Marotta in Steely Dan tribute Reelin’ in the Years as well as the Pink Floyd tribute Beyond the Wall. He’s also the founder of the Gig Performer platform. On vocals is Happy Rhodes, who began her recording career in 1986, releasing 11 albums.
