Cabinet not only opened for moe. Wednesday night at the Forum Theatre in Binghamton, N.Y., last night, but the band’s J.P. Biondo and Pappy Biondo sat in with the headliners for their encore of The Band classic “The Weight.” Photographer Pati Bobeck was there to capture the festivities for Highway 81 Revisited.

Pati tells us the New York state crowd “was no stranger to the opener,” with almost as many concertgoers wearing Cabinet gear as moe. stuff. To back up her point about the love shown to Cabinet, she directs us to a recording of Cabinet’s performance, with fans singing along throughout the entire set. She also notes that Cabinet opened with its instrumental “Susquehanna Breakdown,” maybe “some kind of sublimial message to get the buzz going for their annual festival at Montage?” (The third annual event will go down on May 8 and 9 at the Scranton amphitheater.)

moe. plays a sold-out show at (le) poisson rouge in New York City Thursday night, then Friday and Saturday at Best Buy Theater, also in the city. Up next for Cabinet is Friday’s Gov’t Mule/John Scofield after-party at Garcia’s at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, N.Y., and a Saturday set at Brooklyn Bowl as part of Soulive’s Bowlive series.
