PREMIERE: THE GREAT PARTY, “FLOWERS”

Scranton band The Great Party will release its first full-length album, “New Laws,” this week, featuring “Flowers,” which makes its exclusive debut here today.

The band will celebrate the release of “New Laws,” the follow-up to 2012’s self-titled debut EP, with a show at O’Leary’s Pub (514 Ash St., Scranton) on Saturday April 26.  (21+, $5 cover). Along with digital download, there will be a limited number of CD and vinyl copies of “New Laws” for sale at O’Leary’s.

The Great Party is led by the husband and wife vocalists Michael and Rosaleen Eastman.  Michael Nordberg not only does guitar and synth duties but also engineered and mixed the album.  The rhythm is held down by Matt Mang on bass and Matt Thomas on drums.   Eric Ritter of Windmill Agency in Lake Ariel, Pa., mastered the album. 

The band’s debut EP was awarded “Best New Album” in 2012 and the group itself has won multiple “Best Original Band” awards from local media.  Their music videos for the songs “Teresa” and “Hecho en Mexico” were both featured finalists in Brooklyn’s Silver Sound Music Video Film Festival, which The Great Party performed at in January.
