The Philadelphia Folksong Society has announced the initial lineup for the 52nd Annual Philadelphia Folk Festival, which will return to the 40-acre Old Pool Farm in Upper Salford Twp, Pa., from Aug. 16-18.
The Richard Thompson Electric Trio, The Mavericks, Asleep at the Wheel, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Jake Shimabukuro, Amy Helm, Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band,Sierra Leone Refugee All Stars and Jeffrey Gaines are among the announced performers, and the festival will be yet again hosted by Gene Shay.

David Uosikkinen’s In the Pocket: Essential Songs of Philadelphia presents the soundtrack of the past several decades in Philadelphia. It’s a veritable ‘Who’s Who’ from the Philly music scene.”
