Scranton’s James Barrett has released a new single, “Love Song in 2020.”
You can listen to the song on all of the major streaming platforms here.
“This song is the second single off of an upcoming album that I have yet to announce,” Barrett tells us. “I’ve been recording all year but covid has obviously made it harder to get things done with haste. I released a song called ‘Oh My God’ back in March and this would be the second single after that.
“I wrote this song soon after releasing ‘Oh My God’ right when the world started shutting down. This song is about trying to find forgiveness at the end of the world and realizing that as insignificant as our personal problems may feel in a world surrounded by chaos, they are still our problems and have to be dealt with.”
The track features Jesse Morvan of Modern Ties on trumpet, Teddy Lambert on cello, Bill Gerrity on drums and Amanda Rogan of Sweetnest on vocal harmonies.
The song was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Jake Checkoway from Massachusetts.
Barrett released his debut album, “The Price of Comfort,” in the fall of 2019 and spoke to us about that project and his musical background.
