The influential pianist, singer and songwriter Ben Folds brought his solo tour to the FM Kirby Center in Wilkes-Barre on Oct. 16.
Folds’ trio Ben Folds Five was a rare, piano-led rock group that found success starting with its second album, 1997’s “Whatever and Ever Amen,” which included the hits “Brick” and “Battle of Who Could Care Less.” Folds went on to a fruitful career with the band and as a solo artist, writing a New York Times bestseller, hosting a podcast and working with symphony orchestras. He was artistic adviser of the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center and recently released a live album with the NSO.
His solo tour continues through the Midwest, South and West Coast in November before a three shows at City Winery in Philadelphia (Dec. 16, 17 and 18) and one at Irving Plaza on Dec. 21.
