South By Southwest kicks off today, and among the thousands of folks that will converge upon Austin, Texas, for the annual amalgamation of performer showcases and industry panels are bands and individuals based in Northeastern Pennsylvania or with strong NEPA ties.
If you’re heading down, already down there or just plain interested in how our little slice of the world will be represented at SXSW, here’s a rundown, with links to SXSW’s official site where applicable:

The young Kingston-based punk band recently signed to SideOneDummy Records (The Gaslight Anthem, Gogol Bordello, etc.) and will soon release its full-length debut on the esteemed label.
