Beloved alternative rockers Garbage performed at the Kirby Center in Wilkes-Barre on July 1. Fronted by Scottish singer Shirley Manson and featuring drummer Butch Vig, who was already a star on the ’90s music scene before forming the band thanks to production work on landmark albums by Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins and others, Garbage is known for hits such as “Stupid Girl” and “Only Happy When It Rains.”

Garbage is touring behind its well-reviewed seventh studio album, “No Gods No Masters,” released last year. The band in 2021 also re-released its 2001 album “Beautiful Garbage,” to mark its 10th anniversary. While the band’s upcoming summer dates are mostly in Canada and the US West Coast, there is a northeast date in Bethel, NY, on July 19 for anyone that missed the Kirby Center show.
