Critically acclaimed California folk-rock band Dawes brought its “An Evening With” tour to the FM Kirby Center in Wilkes-Barre last Tuesday, continuing the act’s trend of playing two sets with no opening act.

“We’re extending jams in certain sections and the fans have really been favorable to it,” drummer Griffin Goldsmith said in a recent interview with Highway 81 Revisited. “It’s kind of organic and seems to really work. I do miss being able to give other artists the opportunity to play in front of an audience that maybe never heard their music.”

Dawes will continue to tour throughout the fall, with shows scheduled at the Musikfest Cafe in Bethlehem on Oct. 8 and the Grand Opera House in Wilmington, Del., on Oct. 9
