Electronic artist Robert DeLong performed in a recent installment of the F.M. Kirby Center’s Live From The Chandelier Lobby series on April 2, bringing his eclectic and acclaimed one-man act to the Wilkes-Barre venue.
DeLong, who grew up in the Seattle area, started out as a drummer in indie rock bands but became enamored with electronic music after attending raves. His 2013 solo debut, “Just Movement,” featured his breakthrough single “Global Concepts,” which fittingly became an international hit.
The current Los Angeleno’s latest album, 2015’s “In The Cards,” spawned two more hit singles, “Long Way Down” and “Don’t Wait Up,” and finds DeLong further blending the various genres he pulls from, including techno, house, drum and bass and trip-hop.
A few weeks after the Wilkes-Barre gig, DeLong performed at Coachella. He is currently on tour opening for X Ambassadors, with shows scheduled at Echostage in Washington, D.C., on May 12; Terminal 5 in New York City on May 13; and the State Theatre in Ithaca, N.Y., on May 14.
