Radiohead is universally considered to be ahead of the curve and inluential, so will the band’s publication of a newspaper breathe new life into the dying print media industry? Probably not. Either way, Radiohead today presents The Universal Sigh, a free newspaper it is distributing in the run-up to the March 29 physical release of “The King Of Limbs,” which has been out digitally for some time.
The newspaper is available in many countries, including the U.S., with a full list of locationshere. According to a press release from the band, The Universal Sigh includes “exclusive artwork” by Zacharia Wildwood and Donald Twain as well as contributions from Robert MacFarlane (author of “Mountains of the Mind” and “The Wild Places”) and Jay Griffiths(author of “Pip Pip: A Sideways Look At Time,” “Wild: An Elemental Journey,” “Anarchipelago” and “A Love Letter from a Stray Moon.”) The band points out that The Universal sigh is not the same newspaper that will accompany the “newspaper version” of “The King Of Limbs.”
