Bob Mould has debuted a new single, “I Don’t Know You Anymore,” from his new album “Beauty & Ruin,” set for a June 3 release on Merge Records, which you can stream below.
According to a press release: “‘I Don’t Know You Anymore’ is a classic bittersweet Mould tour de force in a tradition stretching from 2012’s Silver Age to his legendary Hüsker Dü and Sugar singles. Belying its tapestry of brightly melodic power chords and unmistakable Mouldian melodies, ‘I Don’t Know You Anymore’ features Bob in fine, caustic lyrical form, laying out his frustrations concerning a relationship gone sour.”
He previously debuted the album track “Hey Mr. Grey,” which is streaming here.
Mould is backed on the album by his longtime band of Jason Narducy (bass/backing vocals) and Jon Wurster (drums).
While an “expanded North American tour” will be announced soon, according to the press release, Mould has solo dates set for Stage on Herr in Harrisburg (June 12) and Doghish Head Brewery (Reheboth, Del.) on June 13, as well as a “Punk Rock Fancy DJ Set” at Dive in Rehboth on June 14. He’ll also play festival dates in Calgary, at Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Chicago and on July 26 will play at Merge’s 25th anniversary at Cat’s Cradle in Carrboro, N.C.
