MIKE QUINN DEBUTS NEW BAND IN BROOKLYN

Photos and words by Jason Riedmiller

“Hi! I’m Mike Quinn and these are my friends from Scranton!” a visibly giddy Quinn announced to the crowd at Brooklyn club The Rock Shop Wednesday night. The band consists of Quinn’s fellow former And The Moneynotes Pat Finnerty and Roy Williams on guitars with Lewis and Clarke’s rhythm section, Ian and Shane O’Hara on bass and drums.
Quinn, playing acoustic guitar and harmonica, led the band through fun and dance-able selections from his upcoming album “Magico” (Prairie Queen Records, June 7) and a killer mid-set cover of The Band’s “Time to Kill.” Leaving the stage to chants of “One more song!” Quinn was unable to perform an encore due to venue time constraints. However, anyone hoping for one or 10 more songs can see Quinn’s hometown debut at The Bog in downtown Scranton tonight at 9:30.
