My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James’ new solo album, “Eternally Even,” is streaming in its entirety via NPR’s “First Listen Series.” The album will be released Nov. 4, and James will kick off a U.S. tour on Nov. 15, which includes dates at The Fillmore in Philadelphia on Nov. 18 and Terminal 5 in New York in Nov. 20 (complete tour dates below).
James worked on “Eternally Even,” the follow-up to his 2013 solo debut, “Regions of Light and Sound,” for more than a year at his home in Louisville as well as during an extended stay in Los Angeles. “When Jim first played me this music,” says producer Blake Mills, “the first thing I noticed was [the] inventiveness of it all. But what really moved me was that the songs he was building were so personal and inspired and beautifully crafted.”
Pre-orders of the album will include an instant download of the songs “Here in Spirit” and “Same Old Lie.” James wrote “Here in Spirit” after attending a rally in Los Angeles the day after the shootings at the Pule nightclub in Orlando, Fla.
