TIGERS JAW TAPS INTO DOGGED TOURING HISTORY FOR SIXTH STUDIO ALBUM (VIDEO INTERVIEW)

When Tigers Jaw releases its sixth album, “I Won’t Care How You Remember Me,” on Friday, it will mark several firsts for the Scranton band. Founding members Ben Walsh and Brianna Collins have promoted Teddy Roberts (drums) and Colin Gorman (bass) to full-fledged members after the duo served as live members for a few years. And it will be the group’s first release on Hopeless Records, the California label that boasts a roster of Warped Tour-adjacent A-listers, like Bayside, New Found Glory and Sum 41.

For Walsh, the newness of the album also represents an opportunity to go back to the basics.

“I think thematically that the whole record is pretty well connected. … We approached the record in a very deliberate way where we wanted to capture sort of the live energy of when we’re playing shows,” Walsh told Highway 81 Revisited. “So we approached it not wanting to do a whole lot of sonic layering of tracks, we wanted it to be pretty true to the arrangement of how it would be performed live.”
