ANNIE DIRUSSO’S INTIMATE, CAREER-DEFINING NIGHT AT MUSIC HALL OF WILLIAMSBURG

Recap and photos by Bobby Nicholas

Annie DiRusso played the biggest headline show of her career so far to a sold-out crowd at Music Hall of Williamsburg on Thursday night in support of her recent EP, “God, I Hate This Place.”

When she talked about her songwriting process a bit between songs, it felt like the entire crowd was part of DiRusso’s inner circle. And that was partially true in the literal sense — her parents were at the show, as were a bunch of her high school classmates.

It was one of the most energetic and polite crowds I’ve ever been in for a show. Every song hit and I was in awe constantly throughout the night. I can’t wait to see where Annie’s career takes her next.
