Singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Andrew Bird, touring in support of his latest studio album, “My Finest Work Yet,” performed at Brooklyn Steel on Sept. 18.
His newest release has been called his first overtly political album by the press. “I wanted to talk about things we’re not talking about as a people,” he told the LA Times early this year. “What can I say that’s gonna be on a different frequency than everything else?”
Next up for Bird is a slate of West Coast dates, including some with Meshell Ndegeocello, and a four-night run in December in Chicago, his hometown.
Chicano Batman, of LA, opened the Brooklyn Steel show.
