MARILLION TACKLES PANDEMIC, CLIMATE CHANGE ON MUSICALLY UPBEAT 20th ALBUM (VIDEO INTERVIEW)

Progressive rock juggernaut Marillion has never shied away from big ideas, and 40 years and 20 albums into its career, the U.K. progressive band has tackled one of its grandest yet: an album largely informed by the heavy topics of the coronavirus pandemic and climate change. We recently chatted with founding member Mark Kelly after a marathon signing session of albums in Blackburn, Lancashire, delving into the themes on the record, how his approach to keyboards has changed as technology and music styles have changed, the odd experience of being isolated from his bandmates during a recent run of U.K. dates and what it was like being in New York City the day Donald Trump was elected U.S. president.
