BROOKLYN, NY — Heart Bones is a new band with familiar faces — Sabrina Ellis and Sean Tillmann (otherwise known as Har Mar Superstar). Ellis and Tillmann both crafted their own path in music in separate parts of the country, and their mutual styles and personalities came together to create Heart Bones, who came to Knitting Factory Brooklyn on Wednesday night on tour to celebrate the release of their debut album, “Hot Dish.”
Seeing a Heart Bones show is a lot like hanging out with your “fun” aunt and uncle… except if your aunt and uncle had extraordinary talent and you actually wanted to hang out with them. Coming out in bright neon clothes and doing all types of moves on the stage that make even my 22-year-old back ache just looking at it, Ellis and Tillmann brought so much energy to the stage that I don’t know if anybody to come to Knitting Factory after will ever top it.
