The Electric City Music Conference, which will be held Oct. 10, 11 and 12 in various Scranton venues, has announced another round of bands that will perform at the Columbus Day weekend event: Eww Yaboo, Condition Oakland, Young At Heart, Ashfall, Black Tie Stereo, Katie Kelly and the Charming Beards, Cause of Affliction, Warning Level, Polly Anna, Those Clever Foxes, Death Forge, Esta Coda (pictured), Master Fox, James Barrett, Peter KennA D, Zack Savage, The Rusello Project, Ablaze, Roof Doctor and DJ Ryan Kenton.
Additionally, ECMC organizers today announced two master musician classes. Attendees and performers will be given the chance to take place in classes taught by guitarist Charles Rusello and drummer Carl Canedy.
Rusello has taught guitar professionally for 30 years, graduated from the Guitar Institute of Hollywood, starred in an instructional guitar television series for five years called “Guitar Shop,” and wrote the instructional book “The Expressive Guitarist.” Over the years, he has studied with Paul Gilbert, Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen, Al diMeola, Michael Hedges, Joe Pass, Tony Macalpine, and Tim Bogart.
Carl Canedy is a world-renowned drummer and producer. Canedy got his start as the drummer in the historic metal band, The Rods. The Rods have toured with Judas Priest, Ozzy Osbourne, Motorhead and Metallica. Canedy has also acted as producer for well-known metal acts Anthrax, Exciter, Overkill and Possessed. Carl is endorsed by Vic Firth, Kasza, Soultone and Cympad. The Rods reunited in 2011 and have been playing gigs and international festivals for the past few years. Carl also serves as drummer of the local act The Jeffery James Band.
More bands will be announced next month, along with national headlining acts.
