Going to a Temples show is like stepping in a weird, funky, but awesome time warp. Bathed in blue, purple and orange lights, Temples brought a ’70s nostalgic vibe to NYC’s Webster Hall on Tuesday with their long hair, neat suits and psych-rock.
Coming from Kettering, UK, this was Temples’ second show in their US tour celebrating their newest album, “Hot Motion.”
After wowing the crowd with a setlist consisting of some older favorites like “Colours to Life” and “Keep in the Dark,” lead singer James Bagshaw threw his guitar pick into the audience (only to get another one from his pocket) before going into “Shelter Song.”
The band briefly left the stage before they came back for an encore to a cheering crowd. They performed “Sun Structures” and “Mesmerise.” Before leaving the stage for a final time, Temples ended with an extended outro where they all were wailing on their instruments and wiggling about the stage.
